About EQLP

Connecting educators and students to digital learning tools in environments challenged by limited access to networking and power.

Get to Know Us

EQLP provides multiple services to clients including the full evaluation of their information technology needs, from servers to micro-controller devices and software.

We provide advice and guidance on current and future projects, always minimizing complexity, electric power utilization, and overall cost. Our service is aimed at primary and secondary schools, junior colleges, and higher education facilities in rural locales.

EQLP manages the full deployment of state-of-the-art local area networked educational IT systems including design, implementation, and training of staff, faculty, and students. EQLP also provides engineering and installation of cost-effective solar power systems to support the educational IT platforms for those facilities challenged by unreliable access to electric power.

Access to Quality Educational
Assets for All

EQLP is dedicated to transforming education in Rwanda and Tanzania. Through innovative technology solutions like Raspberry Pi computers and RACHEL servers, we provide sustainable and affordable offline education to underserved classrooms.

Our focus is on empowering schools with digital learning tools and open educational resources (OER) to ensure quality education reaches every child, regardless of their circumstances.

The Technology

EQLP combines Raspberry Pi devices, RACHEL servers, solar power systems, and LEO broadband to deliver innovative, resilient digital learning environments. We support coding, AI, robotics, and culturally relevant content creation.

Right-Fitting
Educational IT

Past efforts to bring technology to such educational environments has been hampered by system-related issues, and also by the challenge of right-fitting the IT and training to the particular learning environment where it was being deployed.

EQLP employs engineering design principles to help ensure that each system delivers the appropriate level of services within the context of the unique requirements of the school environment, the educators, and most importantly for enabling the success of the students.

RACHEL/Microbit
and Raspberry Pi

Children educated in rural areas of emerging nations are especially challenged in this regard.

But recent advances in micro-computers (Microbit and Raspberry Pi), local learning networks (RACHEL), and low-cost solar power units, provide the components for building stand-alone digital learning platforms in nearly any location.

These developments hold the potential for bridging the digital divide on a scale never before possible.
